ABOUT US

Qasturi, the Malay language word for "musk", is the creation of Sydney-based Malay Australian Roslan Ibrahim and comprises a unique range of luxurious scented candles and reed diffusers designed to create an atmosphere of comfort and serenity. Inspiration for the fragrances come from a variety of exotic locations and all Qasturi candles and reed diffusers are individually hand-made and hand-poured by Roslan in his Darlinghurst studio with meticulous attention to detail to maintain the highest possible quality. His Signature Candles Collection and Travel Collection are made using the finest natural soy wax and premium quality fragrance oils.

“I first discovered scented candles as a young boy growing up in a poor family in Singapore. I used to help out by selling my mother’s traditional cakes door-to-door and one day one of my neighbours was burning a scented candle and I was amazed by the wonderful fragrance. So I started scraping together what little pocket money I had to buy my own scented candles and I treasured every opportunity to burn them and they made me feel tranquil and relaxed”  Roslan Ibrahim, Qasturi founder

After immigrating to Australia in 2010, Roslan learned to make his own scented candles and reed diffusers and has now turned his life-long passion into an exciting enterprise, Qasturi.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Handmade and individually hand poured using 100% natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and premium quality fragrance oils, our signature candles are non-toxic, have a low melting point, produce negligible amounts of soot, and release no known carcinogens into the air. And not only do they burn cleaner, making them safe for the environment, but they last 50% longer than any regular candles.

We are passionate about recycling and re-purposing, therefore our candle jars are chosen for their beauty, form and functional use beyond their life as candle jars. When you have finished burning your candle, the jars can be hand washed with warm soapy water and re-used as storage canisters in the kitchen for tea, coffee and sugar, or displayed in the bathroom to store cotton balls, Q-tips, make-up brushes or jewellery.
